system files missing after installing rockbox

i have a H10 5gb pure mtp and recently updated the firmware to 2.51. i have followed the instructions for installing rockbox, using the relevant bootloader as directed. then when i disconnect from pc and wait for it to initialize i get he "system files missing" message.

i have deleted the rockbox files and the bootloader and re-installed on several occassions. i have also tried the other bootloaders available and i have scoured the forums for an answer, but i still can't get it to work.

has anybody got any ideas ???????????????????? ?

Make sure the H10.mi4 file that came with Rockbox is in the 'System' directory. When I first installed Rockbox I had the same problem as it was in the root directory.

There are a few comments around the forums about Rockbox on the 'Pure' versions possibly not working, so have a search and see if there is any more info.

There you go follow these instructions and it should get rid of "system files missing" http://misticriver.net/showthread.php?t=46953

As for the rockbox stuff... You'll have to find a different thread but atleast this should get your player back and working again!

You should have already renamed the original .mi4 file to something like Original.mi4 (the name doesn't matter at this stage).

Make sure the H10.mi4 file in the system folder is the Rockbox one. If in doubt, download it again (see the Rockbox Wiki for links to the bootloader file).

According to the Wiki, the Pure H10 is the same as the UMS version, but without the radio, so I'm not sure why you say yours is MTP.

Try the H10.mi4 file in http://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/iriver/ (not the one in the MTP directory) and see if that works.

You should also have a file called rockbox.h10 in your root directory and a directory called .rockbox (note the "." at the start).

Did you manage to find any more info in this forum?

I had the same problem, apparantly I was the first one to use it on an MTP device because barry had to modify the bootloader to work with it. Make sure you download it from here http://download.rockbox.org/bootload...r/H10_5GB-MTP/

Got it sorted thanks the problem was the H10.mi4 file i already had in the system folder. It was labelled H10EMP.mi4 so when i renamed the rockbox mi4 from the mtp link as H10.mi4 it wouldn't work. so i renamed it H10EMP.mi4 and hey presto i now have rockbox working on my 5gb pure. now all i've got to ddo is understand how it all works. thanks once again.
