just a couple of suggestions
first things first, i know very little about how this whole rockbox thing works and these are just suggestions
1. i've read the whole issue with wma's not working on rockbox and it taking up a lot of battery, so just an idea, when you turn on your iriver would it be possible to choose which firmware you want to run such as the rockbox or the iriver firmware, that way if you just want to listen to music you can use the iriver firmware or if you want to play games or whatever you can use the rockbox my 2nd suggestion, how about an alarm clock, i know that the iriver firmware has a clock in it, so would it be possible (with rockbox) for the mp3 player to boot up and play a song to wake you up in the morning instead of some annoying alarm clock? tell me what you think |

1. This already exists. And I think that you will find that most users prefer Rockbox for listening to music, and not just for playing games.
2. This has been discussed. I don't know if anyone is actively working on it. |

Any player with an RTC (real-time clock) should be able to wakeup on its own, and that includes the iriver H320, H340 & H10, all the iPods and the X5. Once an RTC-capable alarm plugin were written, of course.

As nobody else should really be messing around with their bootloader we'll just have to hold on a bit longer...
