There's no reason they shouldn't. Plugins run on the iPod port already.

Strange, but when I try to play the bubbles.rock file (the version from the H120 link on the prior page) on my iHP-140, I get the message "Incompatible version" and it won't play. Am I supposed to be doing something other than placing the bubbles and levels files in the rock folder, and then highlighting the bubbles.rock file and clicking the joystick?

I can play other rocks . . . .

You need to update your rockbox build that's installed on your h140, it's an older version. All the rocks I've provided are compiled against the latest version of rockbox. Rockbox maintains an internal version number that's incremented each time certain changes are made (which is usually fairly infrequently). If the version the rock is compiled for differs from the version you're running, you get that message.

RoTaTor: This is a great game! I'm glad it has been ported for RB. I have 3 questions:
  1. I know this has been mentioned before, but can something be done about the speed?
  2. Can we have more levels, as I have already finished all 100 frozen bubble levels before already
  3. Can we have a nice BMP background like in tetrox to make bubble look nicer?

Sure, I'll look at speeding it up a bit more.

Heh, if you want more you can take a look at the bubbles.levels file, the levels should be easy to design and you can send me any new ones to be included. I could probably even make an in-plugin level editor fairly easily.

I'm no good with doing graphics design, if anyone has any suggestions please post them here or even make some mock-ups. Just a couple things to remember though, (1) bmps behind bubbles won't really work and (2) all text will have a white block around it.

Thanks, I think the suggestion Paprica made makes it smoother. It plays nicer when quick.

I tried to search for extra frozen bubbles levels. Won't be so great to play levels I made my self But I couldn't find any, I'm sure there are some somewhere.

Here's the answer to your prayers (or mine). I hope you like this, it's from frozen bubble. There's a mock-up screen, and the actuall bmp for you to use. You're the programmer, so you should know what should be done!

Here's the mock-up screen:

And here's what the file you should use would look like (note this is a .png, the .bmp version is in the zip file, which I hope was uploaded properly):

What do you think?

saab_rider: looks very nice, I'll be adding in these graphics soon. Also, would you happen to have the graphic without the white squares on the left side? I'll need to resize the background for the ipod nano and that means the white squares will be in different positions. Thanks!

Thanks RoTaToR. If you give me a screen dump maybe from the simulator of bubble running on the Nano, plus the resoloution of the screen, I can make you a new screen for the Nano. I can give you the background with no boxes as well if you need it.

I like the background bitmap but thought the white boxes should have some sort of border. So I made this:

Is it any good? Needs to be converted to a bitmap.

I think that in the end it would just be easier if I had the background without the boxes. I'm sure I'll run into situations where I'll need to tweak the background a little, like shifting things around by a pixel or two, so it would be much easier if I had the full background to work with as well. Thanks.

I was thinking that some sort of border or drop shadow would be nice, and this looks pretty good.

silly point, but does it need to be a white background, mayby an light blue (or any other colour) would make the screen less harsh and pleasing to the eye?

Sure, the background can be any color, maybe I should just use "rockbox blue".

Terrific game, but do you think it would be possible to have the aimer thingo move faster? It takes a dang long time for you to go from aiming to the right to aiming to the left etc. Or it speeds up after half a second or something?

Awesome game, I think the aiming and the shooting bubble should go faster though.
Thanks for making it!
