First post after having lurked for some time ...

I'm having my H140 for about a year now, and I'm using RB since August or so - thanks for the great work to all the devs!

The only reason to revert to Iriver firmware has been recording (being an amateur musician, recording facilities had been one of the main reasons to purchase a H140).

Now, with recent rockbox version 051112, I tried recording through RB, and it worked perfectly.

Here's my questions, at last:

1. I didn't see any level meters in the recording screen. Did I miss something, or is this feature not implemented yet?

2. In the settings screen, there are only two sources to choose: mic and line in. What about external mic which is very important for me?

The level meters dont work AFAIK, recording still needs a lot of work on it at the mo, but it works

to use an external mic, just select line out i think - never tried it tho.
also, if you leave the radio playing and select line out it records the radio

atm, when I'm in the recording screen you can audibly hear (through the headphones) the click of the buttons, and the whir of the drive...

Of course you can, when you are recording with the built-in microphone.

no, i mean i'm actually hearing the hdd and buttons when i'm not recording, but just looking in the recording screen...

if i set the source to line-in, it's gone though. I'll try to make a short recording of what I'm hearing tomorrow...

Yes, that's so you can adjust the gain before you start recording. That will become even more useful when the peak meters work.
