hello all. disturbing development. just installed rockbox, which id love to say is great, but cant. following all the prompts to delete directories results in nothing. more worryingly, my previously cuddly h120 is giving me electric shocks. anyone else get this?

The shock is normal. It has nothing to do with Rockbox.

If you tell me what you are doing to try to delete directories, I can try to help you figure out where you're going wrong.

You should just be able to navigate to the directory that you want to delete. Press and hold the joystick button until the file menu comes up. From there, just select delete.

thanks. must be coincidental, but i've had the player over a year and never been shocked before. reinstalled rockbox and everything is working fine.

by the way, is the any such thing as a printable instruction manual type thing for rockbox?

Follow the link in my signature to the link for the wiki manual. It's a work in progress. There is a PDF printed manual (you can follow the link in my signature to get to that as well) but it is for an older version of Rockbox for the Archos player and there have been many developments since it was written.

Thanks thats great! On rockbox it warned not to go near the debug menu, is that all changed now? by the way, i heard that the h120 with rockbox can now record up to 3 hours of .wav without a break. have i got that wrong?

The only limitation on size of recordings in Rockbox is the limitation imposed by the FAT32 file system itself (4 GB). I've successfully recorded 2.5 hours straight with no problem.
