Recycled directory?!?

i've realized that when i have rockbox on Show files: All; that i can see a folder that I can't see when supported, music, playlists, ID3 database are selected. It is a folder called recycled . i noted that contains many playlists and music files that i had downloaded to my I140 at some point but had seemed to have lost. It also contains lots of thumbs and digi art i never really knew where in there.
I can play music that is located in this folder, but I can't view this file when I boot up to the computer.
I would like to move those files in the recycled folder and place them where i can access them.
Anyone with any insight into what this is?
Any ideas?

Well, Chicago Trauma, I'm only guessing here, but when you plug it into your computer, try checking your recycle bin (you know, the one on the desktop) and seeing if they're there. My guess is that this is stuff that somehow got sent to your trash at some point, but didn't get deleted - however windows is still reading it as a trash folder.

If that doesn't work, then, while exploring your drive, go to Tools -> Folder Options, then click on the "view" tab, and where it says "Hidden files and folders" select the option which says "Show hidden files and folders".

See if either of those work for ya.

I had this happen to me too, it's a quirk of windows OS when you connect to your PC. Also you may find a System Volume Infomation folder gets created from time to time if you use Windows XP. Both this folder and Recycled can and should be deleted. They only take up unecessary disk space.

Easy way, put your player on 'Show all files', browse to the folder do a long press using the joystick, select 'Delete Directory', then press joystick again to confirm.

Here's an old thread you might find interesting.

You might also have files from other users in the recycled bin.

Thanks for the info. As a matter of fact, today for the first time I got a system volume information folder displayed in rockbox with all files showing. Had something called .restore1736XXXX in it. I just got rid of it on the fly, no harm done.
