Rockbox : Plans for a sync?

I'm a long-time viewer, but i rarely post on mistic river, hopefully that will change.

I searched the rockbox subforum for it and couldn't find it, will rockbox be able to implement windows media portable device functionality so it can be synchronized with WMP?

Further, it might seem like a dream (probably is) but if rockbox could emulate the ipod/itunes interface and show h1xx and h3xx in itunes as ipods, the only reason in my opinion to buy an ipod (the great synchronisation feature) would be gone.

Thanks in advance for your opiniongs

heh.... sorry to say, but the main reason why most people want irivers is BECAUSE they're NOT limited to the itunes/'WMP interface. You organize the music any way you want in subfolders. Unfortunately, the integration of both of these things have legal implications, so it will be impossible to do either.

Give MediaMonkey a try. It allows you to sync with h-120 ( or any hd player that is MSC ) and it has a similar interface to Itunes.

Ah, oh well. Thanks anyway.

I've tried Mediamonkey, i used to be a big advocate of it on other forums, but the way it handles tags infuriates me. I use winamp and dbpoweramp for tagging and Itunes with a foobar2000 passthrough for listening. I've been using the itunes sync app for the h300 so far. Still, rockbox has an open plugin development system, no? Hopefully i might have learnt enough about hardware/device programming to try making my own plugin.

Regarding WMP i'm going to go out on a limb here and say "Not a snowballs chance in Hell" That would require DRM rights and that will not happen.

Question: Will the DB that TDT creates be useable by Rockbox? Not sure if it was posted, I haven't been here in a while.

I just switched to MediaMonkey from iTunes and I love it. What's wrong with how it handles tags? I love how easy it is to organize everything.
