700 & 800 series Exchange Plan announced!
It seems many Korean buyers of both ifp 700 ans 800 series have complained that it is a POS and generates too much background noise during operation. It also seems that iRiver has acknowleged it is a POS and they may or may not be able to fix the problem.
You will need to translate the page using babfish or whatever but the news is really not good! I'll post a link ASAP! link: http://company.iriver.co.kr/notice/v...g=&idx=581 webpage translator http://www.worldlingo.com/products_s...ranslator.html Put the iRiver link into the translator...read and cry! iRiver as a result has announced a Exchange Plan where owners who bitch about this white noise problem can swap their player for something else....who know what? In any event there is no mention of getting your money back or no mention of other FW being released. Seems the house of cards may be showing a tendency to come apart in Korealand. This is likely to unleash a firestorm of doo doo at the iZoo and I'm heading in the direction of the bunker...FG move over here I come! sdz

Update:
eeeek...bunker door opens: Seems this "white noise" issue is only objectional with the player in low volume (10 out of a 40 being max). This may not be objectionable with all types of music played at high levels....guess loud music drowns out the noise.....who knows? Seems if you have a clasical music bent and tend to listen at low levels in a quiet enviornment the white noise may be a problem. There is also a mention on a number of sites on the net that the problem is tied to iRiver's choice of chip sets....again who knows? It is possible that if the iEngineer working on the iFW ever gets it iDone he can find new non-iWhite iNoise chips and give you a iRubine iRed player without iNoise....again who knows? slam bang....metalic grinding noise.....bunker shut! sdz
