Thanks Yahoo!......
As of today, Yahoo just upgraded their email service. I think that they are scared of all of their customers leaving for a better free alternative. Old Yahoo was 6mb of email storage, then they downgraded to 4mb of email storage about a year ago. Well, today they just upgraded their service to 100mb of storage and a 10mb maximum message sending capacity. Wow, thanks Yahoo!.......and all this for free?! YES!
My mind is thinking now though. IMHO, I believe the reason Yahoo! is doing this is because they don't want to lose all of their customers to Gmail, Google's new email service which is still in Beta testing, but will be released probably by the end of this year (do NOT quote me on that! It's a random guess) - http://www.gmail.com - Gmail offers 1gb of online storage. That's a monster!!! And yes, it will be free service as well. Yahoo must be scared out of their minds and is trying to ehance their service for all of their free customers so that when Gmail hits, it won't hit as hard. I've been with Yahoo for a year now and think it's a great free alternative, MUCH better than any MSN PoS. Their new interface is more streamlined but it's taking more time to load all of the links where as before it loaded each click of my mouse instantly. I'm sure they will work out all of the kinks over the coming weeks. Maybe Yahoo is just really nice and has done this out of the kindess of their hearts........maybe? Good luck to Yahoo and Gmail........ let the free email service wars begin!!! (......again....)

Wow, nice upgrade and free.
It's taken effect on my yahoo account as well, in the UK. Though it does seem to be slower as you said reddshack. Hotmail had better pull it's finger out.

I've tested out this 'Gmail', and while not hugely innovative, it does have a cool new feature called 'conversations.' All messages and replies between two people are filed under a conversation, rather than showing up as six or eight or ten different email messages (which I hate). With one click you can view the entire conversatino. This alone I think will convert people, not the abnormally large storage.

i'd go with an email addy like Nick suggested, as a main one - but i gotta big problem....
Is FlameGrilled's surname 'FlameGrilled'..?? Is it is 'Uncoolus' from his pigeon fake latin full name of 'Tom Felinious Uncoolus Kat'..?? Tis a mystery indeed... If anyone's got a good idea for FG's own-name email addy, please feel free to suggest.. The demonic hellcat's get the final deciding vote

Corruption, however, is never a good thing. Capitalism does not equal corruption, much like communism does not equal corruption. However, corruption exists in all forms of government/economic systems. It is a dark part of ourselves. Please don't mistake capitalism for corruption any more.. it is a dangerous mistake, that our (US) government has unfortunately spread through its own corruption. I will say, however, that communism is more open to corruption from the top rungs... |

I thought we were talking about email service here, not Government?! Oh but wait, this is in 'News/Rumors' so anything goes........
What started out as a search engine has turned into the biggest scare in free email history. Thanks Google, you have out done yourself!! Yahoo, Hotmail, and others are playing hop-skotch now....hehe

Funny how people are applauding the company behind Google, and yet... the same company is also heading rapidly to being to portals/search technology facilities what MS is to OS's...
So, how long til the mighty Google's operators get tarred with the brush as MS..?? It could happen..

Yep, it could as any company could, which is one reason why competition and competitors can be a good thing. And I must say that the stories I read of Google make it sound different than MS, including its attitude towards its small consumers (i.e. you and me) and the world as a whole.

But when u consider how the bulk of search engines are actually backboned by Google, to the extent a lot of returns via them is google sourced...
The analogy of Google to MS.. takes on a funny old similarity. MS code being behind a huge bulk of desktop OS's, google feeds/returns being behind a lot of engine returns...

I wasn't drawing a comparision between Google & MS, i simply pointed out an uncanny similarity in the way MSs's OS have become the backbone of desktop computing ('nix, for all it's glory, still can't claim to be the first choice of OS base for the mainstream domestic user) that a lot of search engines have integrated most or all of their backbone from Google and hence a lot of search engines are producing the same results for a given enquiry.
I don't credit the anti-MS mobsters of the world with any credence, and hence anyone who does try the same witchhunt over Google on similar grounds (the potential is there) is equally without credence to me. Noone needs tell me about why small start-ups buy into using a bigger resource that fits the bill. Even with the estabilished companies, it's still common to do where setting up own infrastructure for such a facility is not practical/cost-effective at the time.

I guess the antitrust laws that were passed back in the days of the oil barrons (at least in the U.S.) are a good thing, albeit very much watered down under certain governmental regimes ... They at least attempt to prevent certain opportunistic behaviors that perhaps are inevitably tempting.
