They didnt mention though, what is the maximum fps it can do ?

Actually a wind-up batter charger would be a damn handy thing to have if you were to go hiking or camping for any extended length of time. I saw a wind-up torch the other day which I should have gotten because it looked pretty good, lithium ion battery powering 4 white LEDs - 1 minute winding gives 30 minutes light. A far cry from the early dynamo torch I once had, you had to keep squeezing the thing to spin the internal dynamo wheel to get any light out of it

It reminds me of those little animation flick books from when I was a kid (long time ago). Each page has a slightly altered image. You would flick the corner of the book so you see every page fast and it gives the impression of a moving object. You could even whistle a tune while you did it and experience the same joy as felt by the proud new owner of an iPod Photo

Now I am upset. I want iriver to include "flick book" feature in their next firmware. This is far more important than gapless playback, OTF playlists, etc.

(oops, I hope IRiver dont read this and think I am being serious)

it can load photos that fast because it saves the photos as very low rez.

yes, joking aside, I have heard rumours that Apple are going to bring out a video firmware for the IPod Photo. Judging by how quickly it can load photos you wonder what fps it will manage. Its 1-0 to IRiver for now.....but for how long ?

If they can manage a higher fps than the H340, the IPod Photo has a TV out which would be a killer for the H340. (I very much doubt it though)

i don't (personally) think the TV out is much of a concern... i mean, if you really want tv display, burn it to a DVD or something

I see something happening... our Mp3 players are becoming laptops... high frame rate, tv out, good audio, colour screen, high res screen, long battery life, opens word documents...

video isnt really a decider for me. any company that rolls over so that the record companies can have their way with them will not get my money. well at least until the record companies move from their bargining position of $1 per track. they wouldnt get anywhere near that much from the sale of cds ....
