car audio rumour

Hi there

I need to upgrade my car audio system it has sadly died. I have heard that there will soon be a head unit that will come with a USB port so all those of us that don't have an ipod will be able to plug in direct using usb cable therefor eliminating the FM diverter my question has anyone any knowledge of this? know any company doing this my preference for car system is alpine but can't get any info on this.
If this is going to happen I will wait to upgrade so can use USB I have a H340
cheers

You can also get a head unit w/an RCA in and run your dap through it out of the DAP's headphone jack

You can get alpine head units with USB inputs now- the alpine USA website even has a picture of an iRiver in the profile of one of its better models

additionally, i chose to find a used AIWA unit on ebay that had a Line-In jack directly on the front of the face. i just use the included 3.5" line-in/out cable and it works great. several aiwa models included the front line-in/out jack. i think i only paid $60 shipped for the head unit too, so if money is an issue...

The KCA620 from alpine linked to one of its later model HU's will allow control of the Iriver from the HU as well as charging it too.

That's what I've been doing with my JVC head unit, for the past 2 + years. It's great!

I have a JVC ipod interfact for my ipod...its slow as hell. I'd rather have Aux-in and just control it from my DAP...
