40Gb Ipod for £350
Expansys are selling the 40Gb iPod at £350 plus delivery.
Maybe the push needed for UK iHP-140 sellers to drop their prices to a more competitive level? |

Right, so a bigger capacity iPod at top HDD price money is reason to invoke a iHP price drop..??
Erm, no... You see, that's like saying CL should dump the base prices on a Zen because a bigger capacity iHP has come in at top money prices. The iHP and Zen are two distinctly different decsk, and likewise the Zen & iPod are spiritually the same category of deck. The benchmark, in UK prices is still and has been :- £299 base price for a HDD player only (covering player and player with radio/voice recording). £399 base price for a HDD recorder/player with full recording control. That means, essentially, the iPOd is still way over the top in price terms - the iHP heading in the right direction as falling between player & player/recorder prices (as it has a crippled recorder, hence it can't be classified as a recorder/player proper), and the Zen falling into the right margin for a player with a brand name. Clearly, drop notable brand names, and there are direct-encoding HDD recorder/players (MP3 mode only) that creep into HDD player money - and the Karma is finding it's own balance gradually - easier to say now there is UK supply of non grey-imports and proper UK support/backup via the retailers who don't grey it..
