Enjoy:

Some of those look amazing, I wonder if they're all working prototypes?

Cheers for posting this Odie, I was too lazy earlier at work!

Why doesn't the iHP-300 have a built in TV tuner (with ability to record)?

Then we would be talking about a serious accessory.

Apart from the iMP-1000 they all look fantastic. (Drools at the P[i]MP-100!)

Well this should give us subject matter for a few days! Check out the new navigation buttons on the iHP-300 (listed for both the 20g and 40g drives). Wonder how many of the suggestions were implemented? Cetainly the joystick was corrected. Doesn't have many features listed, box looks same so I suspect the same motherboard with different button layout.

Since it has color LCD, does that mean it's firmware won't work with iHP-120?? Wonder how much RAM...etc, etc, etc

Doesn't show a remote though...

LCDless remote for iHP-300

Check out this link (more closeup shots than other link) from Korea and carefully look at the product description placards...the new non-LCD remote for the 120D is prominently displayed on the iHP-300 and several others while a LCD remote is shown with a couple of other products.

http://club.iriver.co.kr/column/view...g=&idx=370

I can only hope the iHP-300 is mega expensive so I don't feel so bad about the -120...the 300 really looks terrific, have to admit I like the color LCD and nav buttons....however I have grown accustomed to the existing side nav buttons and have never used the "Hold" switch since the joystick isn't easily operated by accident (or on purpose for that matter!)

I'm no expert, but the sudden change to non-lcd remotes suggests that maybe iRiver hasn't been able to fix the ticking issue as best as they expected.

It's unlikely, since other companies have no problems with lcd remotes. I'll find out soon enough when I RMA my ihp remote for a replacement.

I mean, why else would they take away one of the main advantages of their players? (remotes with an lcd)

Maybe it's a useability thing, they might think less knowledgable users prefer a simpler remote?

All just speculation.

Yes, but did you see the difference in price, it's quite large compared to the 'changes' they made. (no headphones, and no lcd on the remote)

The LCD remote gets mentioned quite a bit and is a major selling point, I don't know why else iRiver would more-or-less drop it for the new products unless there was something wrong with it. (?)

I agree with you Odie, the LCD remote sets the iHP series apart from ALL OTHER HDD players...I don't understand why they are dropping it and especially why they are dropping it so soon after a product release (the -120 release on Oct 31).

Something is clearly fishy here but they are still offering LCD remotes for the Slimx series..unless the ticking problem is a real bug for the iHP players? Or it could be strictly cost control...if so, they are making a bad marketing move.

What would sell more iHPs would be to address the firmware issues and negate all those negative comments here and on the IF forum...I really think they are missing the boat by not addressing the issue head-on and coming out with some kind of statement.

The first link I posted with the pics seems to have taken them down (probably a bandwidth drain)

Here's another site with the same pics:
