That's the unit that's been produced in association with Napster (hence the Napster logo on it), also known as the 'Napsterpod'.
Apparently the whole first 'wave' of them was recalled for some reason... A bit too heavily based on the look of the iPod, imho - but at least it's not made of white plastic.

hmm... the technical specifications are ok, but does the remote has a display? 'cas this is still for me the biggest advantage of my iHP-140. And the design of the Samsung is....well... I don't like it at all, but that's just my .02$

It's also specifically designed to work with Napster's 'dodgy' WMA licensing scheme - which kind of scares me to be honest. (If you don't know... when you download the WMA you also download a CRM license, which enables you to play the WMA. Without it - you're stuffed.) Although you could just use it as a normal player, any hardware designed for a specific software/download site kind of just makes me look the other way.
It's obviously Samsung/Napster trying to compete with Apple's iPod/iTunes offering - and it's nice to see an alternative. But I'll stick with my drag and drop, "you give it to me and I'll play it", iRiver - thanks all the same.

I like the look of the specs and they look good compared to the iHP-120 and the fact of Audible support which would be a major plus for me.
however what is the bettery life and has it got a remote / remote with screen which is a must and anyway i'm very happy with my iHP-120 and thanks for everyone here that persuaded me to buy one |

I don't know - some of the 'Ministry of Sound' ones look pretty cheesy too...
I does look like something that would come free with a few petrol vouchers though!

But it does have a cradle and it saves having to build one out of wood/lego/you name it. Shame iRiver dont think further than just the DAP. Apart from that I am happy with my 140 and will not switch.

Well i think that H100 series competitor isn't much to look at. Kind of cheap looking. The 4-5GB color display player they have there is nice indeed.
I hope iRiver is working on an iPod mini killer. Also the Samsung PMCs or PMP are much better looking than the PMP-100 series from iRiver. The iRiver one has a weird design and looks cheap. But the specs on the iRiver OF COURSE is better.

Do they need an iPod mini killer?
I mean I'm not sure of the purpose of an iPod mini? A tenth of the storage capacity for 90% of the cost... Is it really proving that popular? (Well, popular with anyone who doesn't just want a pink DAP and doesn't know about the existence of iSkins).

The dock is nice, though - but the "Napster" logo makes me want to buy the thing just to make it fly across the room and shatter into pieces. That's just like... like... Quentin Tarrintino writing a Disney movie. But yay, someone fighting Apple. But I hate Samsung products to be honest. Cheap, flimsy consumer end products that break faster than one can sneeze. I'll stick with a virtual no-name like iRiver, tanks Nick

I hear ya, i bought a samsung cd burner and it broke 2 mothes later blah, no tech support or anything. The thing looks ugly in addition. the fact that it has a napster logo totally sucks too. maybe before napster went all riaa compliant and legal it would have been badass but now its just another dap doomed to fail in with that poloriod one, archos and creative.

Well i don't know about you but i think Samsung is leading in the cell phone platform and the LCD monitors.
I have a Dell LCD monitor that i know is by Samsung and boy can i say it's amazing. Beautiful Clearness. The Samsung cell phone color screens are beautiful. Bright colors and fantastic design. Much Much better than nasty Motorola. Samsung has very small display for their flash mp3 players.
