Creative and Samsung launch on Amazon - but iRiver absent

Well, Amazon have decided to take pre-orders on Samsung and Creative Windows-based PMC's - without iRiver's offering.

Have been looking at the Samsung, which not only looks stunning, but is only £4 dearer than an iHP-140 . Having said that, it is 20GB less space, and doesn't appear to have a recording feature, or support Ogg Vorbis, DivX or Xvid, let alone a remote or FM Radio ...

The currency conversion was done from this site;

And since I used the AmazonAmerica site, it looks virtually guaranteed we will be paying a shedload extra than £270 here in the UK

On a (comforting) side note, the PiMP is available here in the UK now;

I find it amazing how little available the iHP players are. I'm in the middle of Silicon Valley outside San Francisco, and no H-140s are available in stores, as far as I've seen; instead, iPods, Creative Labs, etc. (altho one larger electronics store did have the H-120s). I can't but think that iRiver's sales would go up if they actually had physical products in physical stores (a novel thought) ...

(If anyone knows of stores locally selling the H-140s, please let me know.)
