Wow, my first computer was a Commodore Pet. Of course it isn't Commodore if they don't completely screw up the marketing whilst maintaining technical excellence. Should be an interesting ride

I used to use a newton mp2k. friend of mine wrote 'newthack' for it, the existing release is not as great as nethack, but it's not bad. I wish he'd finished working on the next version, it was much nicer.

hell, there is even mp3 software out for it, and a few years back someone got around to writing decent drivers for atapi pcmcia cards for it... instead of buying an h140 I could have pimped the hell out of my newton...!

Who will be next?? I'm guessing Yamaha...... they already make EVERYTHING else, from cars, to motorcycles to instruments...... Or maybe even MisticRiver will put out it's own brand of DAPs! No, that wouldn't work, Mistic is here because of iRiver, right Jeff?!

I think all of these companies are doing great because they all provide more competition for each other. The only hard thing is keeping track of them all and updated on new arrivals and features of each. I guess that's what IGN.com is for, right? Some of the time at least.

The main criteria for my new DAP in the future (at least 2 or more years) is a bigger storage capacity. It must be bigger than 40 Gb, more like 80 Gb or bigger. That will be my selling point. Hopefully by then they will have 100 Gb HD's out that are the size of quarters.......we can dream can't we?

My main criteria for the new DAP is a LCD screen that covers the whole front of the player so I can practice my karaoke in 32 pt font..I hear karaoke is popular in Asia....

BTW, the Commodore is ugly....
