irver GSM phone @ MWC2008

Here are more pictures of the elusive GSM phone we saw on CES 2008, now at GSMA Mobile World Congress 2008. However, iriver has updated the software interface this time to give it a more genuine look. Still in the same old W7 casing and no model name yet.

Mate if this has the Iriver music quality and isnt as wide as the iphone and has 3g web browsing and at least 32gb hard drive and unlocked to the world, ill have one!

Not sure about the rest, but iriver does intend to sell it unlocked.

Yeah, I was going to say that there'd be no doubt it would be unlocked, given that it's produced by a company who doesn't do cell phones, and has no history with any mobile distributor. It would be unlikely that any of the big guys such as ATT, Sprint, T-Mobile etc would take on iRiver in a partnership for just ONE phone.

I'd also be kind of wary in dealing with the phone aspect of this thing, considering that it is an extreme niche product for iRiver, and the last thing you'd want to have to deal with is bad customer service should the phone part go all bonkers. Seems like a "use at your own risk" kind of situation IMO.
