iriver Unit 2 - CES 2008

The iriver Unit 2 makes a return at CES 2008. The Unit 2 was first shown a year ago at the 2007 CES show and since then, not much has been seen or heard from iriver about this product. On display with the dock and remote, the Unit 2 received a good deal of attention. Designed to be an all-in-one solution for the home and portable market, the Unit 2 does just about everything including VoIP Phone and VoIP Video Phone.

Irver has a lot of cool devices at CES, unfortunately every viddy that I've watched on cnet has showed only proto types.

Still, if they make it to manufactur, they look to have some real promise.

Nice to see iriver getting in the game with some solid entries.

Two questions.

1. Is this the same video as on Engadget?
I don't think is is but since I have no interest in the thing I can't be bothered watching either of them, let alone both just to compare.

2. Has Matt wet himself out of excitement yet?

They're different videos. The Engadget video is quite informative actually.

I've been wetting myself for the last month, although it looks like it won't be released until early 2009 in the US.... so I'm gonna be waiting a tad longer.
From what I can gather the generation 2 prototype of the Unit2 has a 60gb HD and a few more cool features and I've also gathered a price-tag:

Looking at around us$700.

Cheers for that Step. Each new picture looks better and better, the widgets look cool as, although I'm not that much in need for a Stock Exchange one.

Can't wait for the release and I'm just hoping Jeff'll stock it! =]
