PRE / Day 1: iriver @ CES2008
One day left before CES2008, iriver gives us the final production model of P10 - signaling that iriver is ready to come back to the PMP market.
![]() spec: 4 inch touch screen TFT LCD (800 x 480) featureing iriver Touch System 33GB 1.3 inch HHD 600MHz CPU TV out Bezel Touch (touch sensitive edge along the screen)) Speaker Stylus ![]() Supporting: All codec Video Picture Music T-DMB Recorder E-bokk E-dictionary CSD viewer ![]() One thing iriver particularly proud of about the new P10 is its small form factor. iriver claims it is 33% smaller to a reference model with the same specification. [UPDATE] Remember the rumor about an iriver DAP designed for man (if you consider Mplayer is for female)? Here it is - The a player So far we know it has a full metal casing, flash memory, and screenless. A future model (a player II) will incorporate a small LCD screen. Apparently iriver designer draw their idea from lighter. If you are wondering what the 'HOMME' logo on the player is, here is an unconfirmed explanation: In Korean, 'HOMME means "사람; 남자", which refer to "Person; man' ![]() ![]() News via iriver Korea

Guys and gals....
A big thanks to clieos for the great posts leading up to CES. I've been remiss in my duties. I'll be attending CES and will have photos with comparison shots if possible.

If I am not mistaken, CSD reader is a kind of e-document viewer. Here is the link to their homepage.

Seems like a smart idea that CSD.
Converts any information (docs, etc.) into CSD format that the PMP can read reguardless of the original format, supported by the device or not. Kind of makes supported formats a non-issue in the text area. |

I am not going to make a new thread for these cause news pop up too fast.
Anyway, here are three new (and old) models that we are expected to see at CES: (from the top) iriver SPINN (no info. yet), WING (Wifi ready e-dictionary?), and UNIT2. ![]() ![]() ![]() News via iriver the next Simplicity - iriverFans.com - iriver(°¬ÀûºÍ)·¢ÉÕÍø Õ¾ - Top 1 Mp3 Brand In Korea

Are you sure that's the Unit2 and not the Unit3?
There were two Unit[x] models unveiled ages ago, and the difference was the number of segments - IIRC the Unit2 was a screen and a single speaker and the Unit3 was the screen and two speakers. |

Hope those are the real stuff (guess we will know tomorrow) [UPDATE] Apparently engadget already has a report on it.
