Exclamation Announcement - Please Read!

Hello everyone, and welcome to the new and most certainly improved MisticRiver.net! It was a real honor to be able to help the masterminds behind this wonderful move, Jeff and Odie, and I think things went as smooth as possible. Of course, with such a big transition in website and forum software, certain quirky/buggy things are bound to be amiss. This brings me to the first line of business, and I need everyone to follow me on this one:

Please flush/delete all current MisticRiver bookmarks, especially ones which are links to threads from the old forums. (Just delete them ALL) The reason is a technical one, and if you'd like a really detailed explanation, well then, perhaps later ! A quick note about the current server status: The server is located in Orlando Florida, which was hit with yet another horrible hurricane. This may cause downtime, time-outs or non optimal browsing speeds until they've got things sorted over there. Our best goes out to them in this time of crisis.

Also, since the new site software is a lot more feature laden compared to the phbb one, expect to see anything from superficial aesthetic changes, to moderate additions/changes throughout the next couple of weeks. Jeff, Odie and myself will also be working on those little things which may seem like broken features, so don't worry about the things that “used to be there”, we're on it. Please remember, this is totally new software, so everyone has to go into their user control panel, and make adjustments to their profiles and settings as if they were signing up for the first time. After that, all other minor quirks are on us, and will be taken care of an a timely fashion. (taken that we know about them)

Thanks for reading this far, you guys are the reason as to why MisticRiver is such a kick ass site, and without you, we'd be nowhere obviously, so... If anyone ever has a good suggestion as to how MisticRiver can serve you guys better, take the time to stop by the “Everything Mistic” forums, and let us know what you'd like to see, or what you think can be improved or changed.

Yours, the man in the River,

Doug

SS, why are you posting under Jeff's profile? Hmm...... But all my bookmarks are now deleted. I'm liking the changes, everything seems to be in order..... and changing by the second. I can tell this new software is going to be a lot of fun to use. Great work everyone!!

Not quite knowing where to post this, I just wanted to take a moment to thank Jeff, and then Odie and SweetSpot, for all of their work on the new board, which seems great and better than anything the little i has, and otherwise; as well as the work and whatever other contributions have been made by others, including on the new logo and tattoo, both of which are superb, and for answering all of my inquiries .... More need not be said, except, Thanks, again.

Talking New Site

Don't know if I sound like a complete idiot, but I find some small things cool about this vBulletin such as when you're in the forums: if you roll over a thread, it will show you a snippet of its content.

Testing for HTML

I like the new logo, congrats to the winner.

Why is it on my machine I have a big empty space between the 'Home UserCP FAQ...' banner at the top of the page and the start of the forum. It seems as though there is a picture hidden there by the name of [****://***.misticriver.net/images/banners/misticriver-maintop.gif] but as it's all white and the surrounding area is white, it's as though the page hasn't loaded. Twas lucky I scrolled down and saw the forum or I'd still be clicking refresh thinking the page hadn't loaded properly...

Seriously, is it just me being affected by the large area of white space that makes me have to scroll down the page to see the forum. Surely not...

Other than that the new site is great, though the recent threads display of the old board was an excellent feature for seeing the latest posts...

Thanks for your support guys, there's still some work to do in order to get things up to the point of where we can rest and be a bit more satisfied. Some links are broken, the download section needs re-building and some other things need a bit of work. Thing is, Jeff, Odie and I are all working in different time zones, and in order to get things straight, we all need to sometimes talk in real time for optimum communication. Usually the best time for this is on the weekend so.....

Anyway, thanks again guys, your comments, suggestions and support is greatly appreciated by all of us. Redshack...I actually didn't post under Jeff's profile. He was the one who created the front page module, so he asked that I just give him the announcement I made.

Doug

Perfection is a virtue...

Have noticed the shortcomings, but it's notable when one acknowledges it and keep on improving...

The other sites seems to be different, you guys on the other hand are better and more matured.
Thus, good things need to be acknowledged to facilitate continuous improvement.

BTW, noticed certain words are censored...didn't notice this before or could it be that I did not use them?

What are you on about?! We chat every single day!.... I'm kinda sick of you two now actually!

Well I'm certainly impressed... although I've only been here a week or two so I can't comment regarding the old site.

I must say I like the atmosphere here, the forums over at iriver.com seem to be a little more angry.

Thank you for this wonderful site for all things iRiver!
