Should I pick up a new zune?
Although I recently purchased a new 8GB Nano, I have a friend who is going over to Americaland this weekend, and I'm wondering if I should get her to pick up a 80GB zune for me.

I don't want to get another iPod, since I tried the classic and didn't really like it. I like the new zune's styling, and the 80GB storage is enough for me to use it as a back-up disk as well.

What are the prices like in US for the new zunes? I saw that they're about 240USD on amazon, but will that be the price at American electronic stores? Also, do they have any in stock atm, since it only says pre-order now on amazon.

Its just a really tempting opportunity to get my hands on a player that is US only. Even if I don't like it too much, I can sell it on to somebody for a small profit due to how exclusive it is atm.

Any help to enlighten me on the new zune would be much appreciated.

They won't be released until the middle of November, but I think the list price on Amazon is standard.

Id wait for reviews if battery life is important, Zune 1 had stated 12-14 and i only had 8 hours.

Plus all the pre buzz says it is a much better player than the 1st gen one, which BTW, was not that bad IMHO.

If Sweetie wouldn't make me walk the plank, I'd buy one just for fun and comparison sake. It looks like M$ may have gotten it right with the new Zune, though we'll hafta see how it performs in the real world....

I just really wanted to pick up a US-only MP3 player, and I automatically thought of the new zune, which I really like the design of.

BTW, does anyone know where my friend can pick up a Zune 30 in philadelphia? Or is it possible for her to pick one up at LAX?

Oh, and how much can she expect to pay?
