iriver x20 - broken input
Hi,
I bought a 4GB iriver X20 4 days ago and I love it. Well loved it. I got up this morning to go for a run and it was kaput. Everything works fine except for my headphone input... the sound has gone all funky (the bad kind). I can only hear the background sound... if you know what I mean... the main vocals sound very distant and echo-y. I have tried several different headphones and it all sounds the same. The speakers in the unit sound fine. What do I do? Has this happened to anyone else? (Also bought just before going away for 3 weeks so I don't have the box or the receipt... so annoyed) pretty_lights Australia |

But i found if you twist the headphones jack around it will work. I haven't tried to use other headphones so i hope mine isn't wrecked :S Anyway, try it and tell me what happens... |

Problem Resolved.... or at least replaced!
If you can get the sound to change when you twist the headphone jack that usually means you have a problem with the headphones... mine was consistent every time.
Apparently (when I took it back to place of purchase) it was the EQ that was broken... hmmmm... fortunately I didn't have to care whether this was true or not as I took it back within 10 days so it was an instant replace... I actually upgraded to an 8GB... and I am still in love. |

me too...
I've just had the exact same thing happen with my X20 after a couple of weeks' worth of admittedly quite heavy use (I like to put my players through their paces). It's definitely a problem with the EQ/output rather than the headphones I'm using as I've tried a few different combinations. At least it happened soon enough to take advantage of the seller's warranty...
