X20 clock problem solved

Hi,

I own a X20, and it had the clock stalled. I set the time, but, after that, the time remained stalled. I brought it back to the shop, and they sent it to the authorized service. After 4 working days I received this call. They told me that the clock was working. They said that they rewrote the software to the player. So there is a mean to rewrite the firmware... I'm glad now to have the player fully functioning.

Greetings

They probably just updated the firmware, which is usually the first thing technician do to make sure it isn't a software problem (and in this case it does turn out to be a software problem).

Well, the firmware is the same as it was before servicing: 1.04
So, no update here.

Same problem

Hi, i have the same problem with my x20. Originally the x20 wouldnt change(keep time) with the firmware that it came with out of the box.

So i decided to upgrade the firmware to the latest (which is 1.04), upgraded it and checked in the 'system information' section and it clearly says 'version 1.04 Apr 06 2007".
But the problem is still present (as it doesnt keep time, just says what 9:51am after 20minutes).

Anyone have a possible solution? I'm not sure if i can take it back to Jb hi-fi as it has been over 2 weeks since i bought it, and i dont really want to send it to Iriver if i dont have to (as i'm really loving the x20, despite this problem and the whole playlist issue).

I did notice that when taking out the battery, that there is a smaller circle battery underneath. I assume that this would be the battery that enables the clock to keep time?? If so, is it possible that the battery is dead and be the cause of the problem??
