X20 and fake friends?

the iriver x20 looks sweet. period. and it features are sweet. period. ...

but there's something buggin me... is it just that:

1. the design of the player is VERY popular?
2. the X20 is a copy-cat of design?

look at all these other players i found...











so can anyone tell me what's copycatting what?

The second one from the top (the Insignia) certainly was around before the x20.

I don't recognise the others, apart from maybe the bottom one, but they're probably all sort of Korean designed like iriver being made for the same market at the same time. Obviously there must be some extent of borrowing ideas, but really they're just landscape-styled DAPs; most PMPs have a similar layout, most portrait DAPs have a similar layout.

Exactly, theres only so much you can do with a screen and buttons. I never buy into the idea that dap designs are stolen from other designs, like laptops really
