FLV converter?

Does anyone know a program that can convert FLV files (off youtube) to a suitable format for my X20? I can't seem to get my converted files to play on the X20, and the ones that do play have audio which is not synchronized with the video.

I tried using SUPER, but am not too sure about what settings to use

http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Hi...I use YouTube FLV to AVI Suite Pro [http://www.easiestutils.com/products...isuite2050.htm].

It is able to grab the video direct from YouTube and several other video sites that use the FLV format and save it as an AVI or FLV [will also convert FLV's from the hard drive].

I then convert it through the iRiver Plus 3 software and save it either back to the hard drive or direct to the X20.

Hope this helps.

use these settings:

*.avi

Output Codec:
MPEG-4
Audio Codec:
MP3

You May select ffmpeg or Mencoder
MEncoder (at the top)

Video:
Resolution:
No Change
Bitrate:
Anything between 500 and 1008 (Keeps good reasonable quality)
Frmae/sec:
25

Audio:
Sample Rate:
44100 kHz
Bitrate:
128kbps

I hope this helps

Then select DIVX when the other screen comes up.

For me iriverter converts FLVs, but I don't know if thats cos I have the extra mplayer codecs in the folder.

I've also used SUPER, but I don't have a X20 so I don't really know what settings would be needed.

Don't pay for anything though.
Never pay for something when an open source program (i.e. in this case mencoder) can do it for free.

Yep, but i'm just downloading the trial version to see if it's a good software.
Anyway, Super does this job efficiently. But i still have to use iRiver 3 Plus before i can put these videos on my X20 !

reverendbert, would you know what settings to use if I convert directly to WMV?

About the same for *.wmv as *.avi with mp3 audio. BTW, try converting to *.avi first and let WMP11 convert it into *.wmv to put onto your player. I usally have visual playback difficulties when I convert into *.wmv.

The AVI settings worked for a little while, but now the audio isn't syncing with the video again.............

Is there another converter out there that would work?

If sync is out, use professional video editing program like Vegas.

BTW, try not to convert long & lengthy videos and leave system resource free while converting using SUPER (as with all)

Im not sure, but I doubt it could be used on players.
