noob question... video?
Just got the X20, and I'm liking it a lot.
Now I'm trying to put in some videos, but the mini CD it provided didn't work on my computer. I tried iriverter, but it doesn't seem to convert. I click convert, and it says "Success" in about 1 second, and no output is made. Any other programs I can use to convert videos? |

I'm having this problem with iriverter too. It works on some files and not on others. I managed to get a whole DVD fine, but it's an old German film and has no copy protection. I tried with another newer DVD and this problem kept occuring.
Also, it's really annoying that iriverter won't let me change the fps to 30, as it's stuck on 15 on the setting for clix/U10 (the only setting which seems to work for drag and drop video on the X20). Why does iriver Plus 3 try and convert everything to wmv as well? |

iriver plus 3 is also downloadable on www.iriver.com

However if you like Windows Media Player 11, you can get it from microsoft's website:
www.microsoft.com BTW: Conversion usually makes file quality 23-25 fps

I've tried to manage some files with WMP, and it's really cool. WMP 11 is not as ugly as WMP9 or 10, i would say it's like iTunes ...
Anyway, i still don't manage to convert video, even with Iriverter. And with iriver 3 plus it takes to much time ... |

Using iRiver Plus 3, goto Video -> select video source on the top portion then simply pull it down to the bottom portion for Sync.
A 5 minute WMV programme took as long as three minutes to fully convert and sync - and it looks great! |

Iriverter vs. Iriver Plus 3
I find the Iriverter is a much more better program to use to convert your videos.
While it takes up a little more MB for a converted movie compared to the Iriver PLus 3the benefits are: - Faster video conversions - Video quality are similar (i couldn't tell the difference) |

I think the best video converter is ImTOO 3GP Video converter. I used it successfully to convert a full movie to x20 format. I converted it to XviD AVI, 29,97 fps, 320x240. It works very well and i discovered that X20 plays AVIs with a much higher bitrate than that specified in the manual (512 kbps). I've played movies with 1200 kbps with absolutely no problem.
