Release of iRiver x20
I am really interested in this player. However, I heard that it will not be released in the United States for many months. Is there any other method of getting this player, like through importers and such?

The MR store is the best bet for getting iRiver's new players in the US.
You can be certain that if he can, jeff will get ahold of the X20 along with the W10 and the Clix2. It's not worth bugging him about though - he'll probably appear here and shed some light on the whole situation.

hope I'm not breaking the rules by asking this, but does anyone know of reputable retailers that are willing to deliver the iriver x20 to europe from japan? I really like the line-in function and am willing to pay extra for it!

i see this player at JB HIFI, for 299AU for the 8gig one, im really interested in it, i have the Miezu6 4gig atm as my small flash player, but need 8gig, is the x20 Flash or HD?? and is the sound quality/bass as good as the miezu?? Do you think this would be a good upgrade on the miezu? thanks for any comments

Wow, these prices are amazingly low ($299 for 8gig!).
I bought one on Thursday 8am from minidisc.com.au (4gig $209). I just checked the online tracking and apparently its in Perth right now, and will be at my house in a couple hours. When it gets here i'll give it a go and tell you how it goes.  You should checkout minidisc.com.au, i don't know if they have 8gigers though.

I received my player tonight and I truly love this little player. I found the sound is better than my little s10. Sound is deep and strong. The built-in Fm radio works pretty well too. The picture quality on the X20 is quite (surprisingly) good and I can check out my photo album while I'm listening to the music/radio. The player is actually cheaper on warehouse123.com. Price for the 8Gb is $219.00 and I paid US$159.99 for my 4GB. The price of the X20 is amazing.

hi guys,
good to see that many of you have gotten the player - I have a couple of questions 1) Does it come with a screen protector ? 2) I assume it does not have gapless playback. How bad is the gap between the tracks? Is it really noticeable? I have an H140 with Rockbox and am not really used to gaps... 3) Recording - how good is the built in mic, and is it true that the X20 records to wav from the built in mic and to MP3 (only to a maximum of 128 Kbps) from the line-in? Has anyone tried to connect a 3.5 microphone to see how the Automatic Gain Control works, if there is any? Many thanks, am sitting on the fence waiting for feedback on these points for a while now! I would really like to move away from the H140 to something smaller and flashier The X20 looks like it could be the one...

Hi guys
Bought my x20 a week ago 8gig for 265 (Aussie dollars) and am very happy with it. Mind you thought it seems that Iriver it self doesn't seem to know that they have put out a new DAP  nothing on their website about it, connected my player tonight and the Firmware upgraded to version 1.02 and do you think i could actually find what has changed with the new firmware?A piss poor effort on Irivers part but still a nice little player

This player is shaping up to be very nice, I might have to look into it further.
It'll be a toss up between the clix2 8gb and the X20 8gb, I'm pretty in the know about the clix2, but could anyone give me the pros and cons of the X20? Cheers
