T60 folders gone mad

Hi guys,

Maybe I'm just thick, but having some problems with the order of my folders on my T60. I was using it in UMS mode & dragging and dropping files. I have a H120 and am used to using the file tree & being able to create whatever folders and subfolders I want. However, I recently just removed all files and put on some new ones. The new folders are not listing in any type of alphabetical order - just randomly. I then converted to MTP and started using WMP to sync my music over to the player - with the same result. It's driving me nuts! Any suggestions would be fab!

I noticed the same thing with my T10. What happens is that the player will show the folders/files in whatever order you drag and drop them. The problem is that Windows doesn't always copy files in a logical sequence!

For example, on my computer, I have Artist folders with Album sub-folders sorted by release date. If I simply drag the Artist folder to the T10, the Album sub-folders wind up out of order (usually, the last folder is copied first followed by the first folder, then the remaining folders - weird).

A work around is to create an empty main folder on the player. Then select all the sub-folders on your computer, and while pointing at the first one in the list, drag it to the player window. This then copies them in the desired order.

The actual problem is that your T10 (like mine) shows you the folders in the order that it finds them in the FAT (File Allocation Table); it doesn't actually sort them. So if you haven't transfered them in alphabetically order you won't see them in alphabetically order.
The solution to your problem is FATsort.
