T50/T60 bookmarks?

Dudes, my iAudio G3 is getting rather long in the tooth and I am thinking of buying either a T50 or a T60. However, I can't find a manual online, so maybe one of you guys can help me.

I know that many iRiver mp3 players handle bookmarks (real bookmarks and not just "resume") for Audible format audiobooks, but not for other formats. But I need bookmarks for mp3, wma, at least.

Can anyone tell me whether iRiver has added bookmark support for these formats, for the T50/T60?

Wouldya settle for a definite maybe not?

I don't own a T50 or T60 and it doesn't seem like any current owners of either model have answered your question since July. Seems something of a trend that owners of either of the newer models aren't as forthcoming with solutions as T10 and T30 owners. Many times questions regarding T50/T60 go unanswered, with T10 and T30 owners finally piping up to try to help. Dunno why it is that way, but it is what it is.

I can tell you that those two models are extremely similar in features and user interface as the older T10 and T30 models, both of which I do own. Soooo ...all other things being similar then it's quite likely the answer is that T50/T60 have bookmarking only for Audible files and not .mp3 files.

And sometimes we're just out of town. No bookmarking of mp3s on the T60. None on the T30, either.

T50/60 bookmarks

Just bought a T60.... As far as I can tell, it only supports resume function, I didn't see any mention of the bookmark functions.

The player only come with printed copies of quick start, the manual is provided as PDF on CD. I'm new to the forum, is there some place I can upload files? Would this cause problems in terms of copyright violations?

'Course you're not the only T60 owner here, Fritz.

I emailed iriver over a year ago regarding adding bookmarks for .mp3 and .wma files to future firmwares for T10 and T30, instead of just for Audible files. Mentioned that other audiobooks and podcasts come in those formats, so only having bookmarks for Audible files wasn't enough.

Miraculously, they actually answered within a week! (Usually they take forever to answer emails or just never answer at all, support is much better by phone.) Unfortuntely, their reply was that there just wasn't enough demand for such a feature, so they had no plans to add it to future firmware for their flash devices.

I don't think it would be a copyright problem, electronic format product manuals are frequently uploaded on Amazon and other commercial sites. You could email a forum administrator to make sure though, as well as to find out how.

That's too bad. Bookmarks are one of the few features I miss from my old Rio Forge.
