Problem Pausing/Starting Recorded FM Radio Program

Thanks for the assistance. My T10 has had a wonderful lobotomy and brain replacement with Firmware Upgrade Version 1.77.

It makes so much more sense and is much easier to load music even without using Windows Media Player. Just drag and drop into the Iriver T10 window.

But now I have another operational problem.

I can easily program the T10 to record an FM radio program at a specified time. This is a great feature.

Here is the problem:
When I am playing back the radio program, I am unable to pause the playback and then start it up again from the place where I stopped it.

After sitting in the paused mode for a few minutes, the T10 jumps to the red "ready to record"(voice) screen and I cannot just pick up the program where I left off. I have to go to the Browser and restart the recording from the beginning and fast forward to the point where I left off. This is a real pain in the butt ! To make it worse, the fast forward speed is way to slow.

What can I do to have the T10 start up the FM recording playback from the point where I paused?

I have a downloaded audio book on the T10 and there is no problem pausing or stopping the program, even over night, and starting right up at the exact place where I stopped or paused.

The problem only exists when I record and try to playback the recorded FM radio program.

Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

That's happening only on FM recordings because when you use 'FM record' T10 automatically throws the the file into its RECORD folder. When replaying any file from the RECORD folder it will default back to the "Ready to Record" screen on pause. This is useful when pausing and then restarting actual recording, but kind of a pain when all recording is finished and you just want to listen to a recorded file. (It works the same with VOICE recordings.)

There's no way to get recordings to automatically go into a different folder while recording, but you can take the recorded .mp3 from the RECORD folder and move it to the DATA or MEDIA folder.

Then you can pause or stop it (even turn the player off) and it will resume exactly where you left off just like any other .mp3 file. This does require connecting the T10 to a computer though, you can't move files from folder-to-folder directly on the device.

That's because you just changed the firmware. Anytime you change firmware all the player's settings automatically go back to factory defaults, which are all the lowest settings. If you want fast-forward and rewind to be faster just go into Settings->Advanced->Scan Speed and change it to a higher number.

Thanks Shyanne

Thanks you so much. What you say makes complete sense to me. I'll give it a try. I get the idea of moving the file to another folder.

Again, thanks!
