Unhappy T10 booting issue.

Greetings,

I recently received a malfunctioning T10 512mb player. The problem is when i start turning it on, it pops T10 MTP, Scan music file, switches off for a second, switches on again and keeps doing the same til i remove the battery. When i connect it to an usb port, i get Creating db screen for about 5 seconds and then USB CONNECTED. Unfortunately, Windows tells me the usb device is not recognized, so i'm not able to access it's flash memory. Furthermore, iriver firmware updater is also unable to detect my player. I used the forum search and found few threads containing similar problems, but none of them had a solution.

Is it possible to get my t10 back to life?

Thanks.

Thanks for responding, I had windows media player 11 so I rolled it back to windows media player 10. What happens is when I turn it on is does everything like it should and then after it gets to scan music to file, it shuts off, at first I thought it was the battery, so I changed it, same thing everytime, I changed the battery about 10 times until I ran out of remotes in the house. Hopefully yo can help me out, I really don't feel like buying a new one, I bought it from a friend about 2 months ago, I guess thats what I get for buying used stuff

Thanks

Try this...run WMP either 10 or 11, but preferably version 10. Connect your player. See if WMP notes it. If so, go to the SYNC menu and then find/use FORMAT PLAYER. This will remove any offending files that are putting your player into the Death-Loop. After formatting, you will be good to go. Use this method anytime you again, get the scan screen and then shut-down/re-start loop.
