[T30]What is "settings -> display -> battery select" for? What is its purpose?
What is settings -> display -> battery select for? What is its purpose? When I change it to rechargeable I thought the battery will charge from the USB cable but it didn't or I'm wrong?

From your helpful manual:
"You can set <RECHARGEABLE> or <ALKALINE>. The player will manage the battery indicator icon to better match the usage level." It's occasionally useful to read those things. |

I read them but I can't understand what is this for - "icon to better match
the usage level" ? There is no sense of this menu item if it doesn't affect something. Please explain what will change if I turn it to alkaline or rechargeable. I tryed both but even when I choose rechargeable and plug in my USB the battery doesn't recharge from it.

As a battery's charge is used up, the voltage it gives off drops slightly, following a curve.
The only way the player has of estimating how much power is remaining, is the slight drop in voltage. This curve is completely different for alkaline batteries and NiMH batteries, as is the initial voltage. So in order to determine how much use the battery has left, the player needs to know what type of battery it has. If you don't set this setting correctly it will have no effect on the player's behaviour, it just might show a misleading value on the battery level indicator. Quote:

Sorry, I think I'm so used to struggling with bad translations
of Korean handbooks that I thought the meaning was clear. Sometimes I wonder, would it really rise the costs of a player that much to have a native speaker translate the manuals |
