Strange hissing noise from my t30. From what?
When I turn it on nothing hears, but when I press play and then pause the hissing starts. It isn't loud and you should be in a quiet room to hear it but it is very annoying and when I change the songs I hear it(to hear it just don't play anything). What it is caused from?
If you don't concentrate on the player sound you might won't hear it. It sounds like an old cassette player which volume is turned up to high levels. I'm using 1.71P UMS version of the firmware. PS: It's difficult to explain it in english, if somebody doesn't undestand just let me know and I will help.

1. Make sure your headphone plug is completely plugged into the jack. I only hear hiss on my T30 when the plug is not in all the way. Sometimes I think it's all plugged in, but it is not ... I know it is not if I hear that hiss between songs.
2. If that doesn't work you can try cleaning the headphone plug. Use alcohol on a tissue or cotton, clean the plug well, then let it dry completely before plugging back into the T30. 3. If that doesn't work, try different headphones and see if the problem is still there. 4. Your English is fine. |

The headphones are OK . I tryed the original Iriver headphones and the hiss sound still remains but it is weaker than the one in current headphones(they are very sensible to high frequencies). Maybe the problem exists in every Iriver player because of the powerful amplifier but I'm still not sure. I'll try 1.60 firmware and post the results as soon as possible

You should not hear hissing. That denotes a problem in either the pre-amp or amplification circuitry. I'd take it back for replacement or repair. Have you placed your unit anywhere near a magnetic environment? Just wondering. Sesquash |

About the magnet - nope. Even I return it to the store they will hear nothing because it is so quiet and I'm still confused about what it is caused by. It sounds like a wind that blow your ears like being outside but even quiter. I'll try another firmware but I can't find 1.60P
