Firmware update doesn't seem to work
I got a T30 last night and immediately went to iRiver.com to update the firmware. The updater asked a couple of questions, did a little dance and then told me to unplug the device from the computer and then the update would happen. It said my device would reboot a few times.
Well, I unplugged it and it turned itself off, but that was it. When I went to check again the firmware had not been upgraded. It's still 1.22. What am I doing wrong? Also, someone asked about getting FM radio functionality by using a different firmware version. Is that possible? Thanks! |

I have the identical situation with a T10 1 G. I'm running Windows 98, so I had to do the UMS deal. Everything seemed just fine (I did the upgrade on my daughter's XP machine), and I even dragged and dropped some tunes onto my freshly zorched player. However when I got home, the T10 reports "USB Connect" just like it's supposed to, but my computer still ain't seeing the drive. I tried Control Panel Add New Hardware and it seems to be looking for a file called NTMAPHLP.PDR. I can see the drive on my hardware profile as a "1394/USB Disk", but there's a goofy yellow excalmation point beside it, indicating that it is either not present, or that the driver is the wrong one or else missing or corrupt. Is there a place I can get ntmaphlp.pdr? Is that in fact the proper driver for the T10?
Also, the splash screen still reports my player as "MTP" during power-up. That may just be sloppy programming of their upgrade flash, or maybe I didn't really succeed? I would greatly appreciate any information or pointers. This is my first post to MysticRiver, hi everybody! |
