Can someone answer me in plain english please???

as this is what my t30 isn't doing at the moment. the options menu's are all in japanese, even tho the main icon menu is in english.

i have the 1.70 firmware (UTS) - if i upgrade to the 1.71 with the upgrader from the iriver site, will it change the language? if not is there any other way of doing it?

Assuming you bought the t30 in the States, or in an primarily English speaking nation, here's the t30's manual in PDF form. There should be a "revert back to factory default" setting somewhere in there. I was going to look for it, for you, but then thought... what the heck am I doing that for ?

god give me strength.

i must admit, i should have realised that the subtle hint provided by my username (t30maninJAPAN) and the fact that the entire topic of the thread is about the t30 having menus in JAPANESE, rather than english, might leave the central question of where the device was bought in doubt.
