I am new to this website, and posting threads in general. Please, someone help me!!! I have a t30 and tried to do the firmware update. Here's the deal, when it says to press (next) when you see the picture of your device, the picture of my device is not present! Also, when I try to use the programs Mood Logic and Audible Manager, it says that my device is not connected, when it is. However, when I use WMP 11, it recognizes that my device is connected, and gives me no problems at all.
I think *(though I have no real clue) that I am having a driver issue, but I have lost my installation CD, so I can't even reinstall what's on it. Please help me!!! Thanks! |

Your problem is that you are using WMP11. The updater gets its drivers from WMP10, WMP11 won't work. Rollback to WMP10.
Go to the Microsoft web site and follow the instructions in "Release Notes for WMP 11", it will give you specific instructions on the proper way to rollback to WMP10. If you don't use WMP10 you will not be able to update the firmware on the T30, not even manually. Last edited by frogmeister : September 2nd, 2006 at 06:50 AM. Reason: incomplete |

Frogmeister, this is from your other post on the same problem:
Rolling back to WMP 10 wasn't as easy as it sounds. You must roll back 3 different items in order for WMP 10 to work properly, otherwise it crashes on startup. Those items are WMP11, Win Media Format 11 Runtime and, MSoft User-Mode Driver Framemaker Feature Pack 1.0 |
