t30 without fm tuner

I have T30 1GB without a FM tuner (fw: 1.71P US) and I want to ask if is any possibility to activate it in my T30.

And my second question is what difference is between Pure and Non-Pure?

Pure means no radio, non-pure means with radio...

US and EU markets got the Pure, Asia and Australasia got the non-pure... Something to do with import tax or something (ultimately a poor excuse!).

From reading these forums it seems the T10 pure does not have the radio chip installed (someone did an 'autopsy' on their T10) so presumably it is the same case with the T30.

Therefore even if you used an Asian firmware update on your US T30 it wouldn't activate the radio.

I know this is an old thread, but I was just wondering if there's been any definitive confirmation on whether the Canadian/US T30 has the necessary hardware for FM? From what I've been able to gather:

1) Pure T10 does not have the necessary hardware. Flashing a pure T10 with non-pure firmware reveals radio settings, but radio still doesn't work (obviously).

2) Pure T20 does not have the necessary hardware. Flashing a pure T20 with non-pure firmware bricks the player.

3) Speculated that pure T30 does not have the necessary hardware. No one has tried flashing a pure T30 with non-pure firmware.

I'm too chicken to try flashing my pure T30 with non-pure firmware for fear of bricking it, but perhaps some other brave soul has already tried it.
