Building portable speaker system for T30 - need help!

Hi everyone!

Well I found (2) 8 Ohm, 0.5 Watt speakers and I would like to make a portable speaker system for my iriver T30.

-If you can answer any one of these questions please do

The player runs off of 1 AAA so will I need the speakers to have their own power source?
Other than the speakers themselves, do I need any capacitors/resistors or anything of that sort?
Should I wire them in series or parallel (will a parallel setup have greater output)?

-I guess those are my only questions for now. If this is the wrong place to ask these questions, could you please direct me to a related forum?

Thanks,
Eric

You can build a system with no power source by just wiring the two speakers as if they were earplugs but it won't be very powerfull. The two speakers should be wired in stereo. On the jack plug, you have 3 connectors, 1 for the mass, 1 for the left channel and 1 for the right channel.

You should easily find on the net diagrams to built the equivalent of a small amplified speaker system using a battery. I remember building one when I was younger (14 or so) during my electronic classes.

Hope this help
Phil
