major problem with refurbished t10

it turns off about 5 seconds after playing a song everytime i turn it one. it powers back on 1 sec. later on its own. i was told it was because the music files were bad and i needed to erase all of it and sync it back on to the iriver i did that with my songs, they all have liscenses and it still had problems. does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?? please help

Hi mate are you running the latest firmware? I think it's 1.70
Also are you running the player in MTP mode?

Hi

I don't have my T10 with me so don't remember the menu structure to ascertain Firmware version. This is info from iriver site

http://www.iriveramerica.com/support/mtpupdate/

Try opening that link and following the instructions. Basically it will download a small utility and check what version firmware you are running. If there is an update it should offer to update for you. Let me know how you go

Rob

that sounds like a firewall problem, try turning the firewall off then running the updater

Are you using iRiver Plus software to add music to the player? If so you might be able to try updating the firmware from there. With the player connected open iriver plus > Tools Menu > Portable Device > Update Firmware

Obviously this is only relevant if you are using the irver software to manage the player. Let us know how you get on
