2GB T30 announced

http://www.engadget.com/2006/06/22/i...-t30-goes-2gb/

This is good news, but a shame its not out already in Europe .

I have found places in Japan that sell it, but does anyone know if the FM radio would work over here in the UK? As ive got a feeling Japan uses a different FM frequency band. Would be good to hear from people that have bought I-River players that have a FM radio from Japan.

One thing I was hoping for was a mini SD slot even if the case would have to be made alittle bigger, would be so worth it. Iriver would of really had an MP3 player like no other company then, Line in record, uses normal batteries, and memory expandable.

Personally I prefer the T30 over the T20... why did iriver dump the line in on the T20??? I'll never know!

As far as I know, FM is FM, in all the world.

After contacting shop in Japan they also confirm that it can recieve UK FM broadcasts.

So, I just ordered the T30 2GB from Japan (gulp!). For the extra £30 im getting double the memory (which i'll def need) and FM radio. I'm going on holiday in less than a month so couldnt really wait for it to be on sale over this part of the world which isnt going to include a radio anyways.

Shall report how I get on with it when it comes.

Where can you order it to have it shipped to Europe? I'm also very much interested in it. Seems to be quite cheap for what you get!

Well I really hope if you are from the UK you don't get any customs including the special 'radio tax' for MP3 players with radios. Btw how much was it? Maybe I'm too used to Iriver sound, but if given the chance and the right price I would probably swap my Samsung flash for an equivalent memory Iriver one.

Total price I paid was just under £100 which don't think is too bad, shipping was quite pricey but I expected it. Could of spent bit more and got a harddrive player but not what im looking for.

Have a search on ebay for '2GB iriver t30'.... if can't find it exactly then let me know.

Hehe yeah DukeZed duty fees are dodgy. But hopefully if im lucky I won't get stung for import tax... *cough* labeled as a gift

Looks like they plan to release the 2GB in other colours eventually by looking at the Japan iriver site.. only seems to be red around at the mo. Im guessing its not gonna be on sale over this part of the world for awhile.

Sounds like a sweet deal.
You'll get the player, plus an FM transmitter for 13000 yen, which should be about 90 €. If you can have it shipped to you, that is... I'll give it a try.

I contacted iriver Europe and they told me the T30 2GB won't appear in Europe for whatever reasons.

Very weird why they aren't I can't make Iriver out sometimes, from what ive seen they keep making some silly mistakes. Ditching features and also makin some features based on locations... Strange.
