XP Not Recognizing T10

For some strange reason, XP is not recognizing my T10 player. When I plug it in it looks for new hardware driver and then can't find them. Any suggestions? I called tech support and they said I meet all the software requirements, but since I have a custom built computer they can't help any further and to just return it and get another brand. Isn't that strange? Anyway, I would rather get this working if possible.

Make sure you have the latest Windows Media Player. You can google it and get the offline installer if you want. Assuming you have not converted to UMS

I had the same problem and followed Ted Yo's advice :

I followed step 1 and manually went into regedit to change permissions and inherit settings as described by Ted Yo:

Open regedit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\S YSTEM\CurrentControl Set\Enum
Right click on this key and choose Permissions…
Verify that “Everyone” is allowed “Read” access.
If you don’t see this, add “Everyone” giving them “Read” access.

Do the same thing with:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\S YSTEM\CurrentControl Set\Enum\USB
(This key should be set to inherit from the Enum key, but that may not always be the case.)

Do you have SP2? If not - install it.
