For everybody who used the hybrid fws at mtp-ums.net
I’m reading a lot of posts asking what about player upgrades since iriver officially supports conversions between mtp and ums interfaces…
ALL users should can update their players firmware as usually… but, what happens with the T10 PURE users who got an unusable FM menu item now that iRiver has released PURE firmwares for T10 too? Here we go with the ‘hybrid theory’ again… Theoretically is possible (and maybe more 'successable' than original hacking) to make those fake NON_PURE players accept an official PURE firmware, and then, since that, the player will be able to normally accept next releases of official PURE firmwares… I have prepared those hybrid firmwares as usually, both for EU and US true PURE T10 players… I have used the NON_PURE-EST -170 header and replaced the one in official PURE-US/EU-170 firmware. Here are the links… T10_NP_UMS_EST_to_P_ UMS_EU T10_NP_UMS_EST_to_P_ UMS_US · Please note that those firmware are not tested yet and could brick your player at all… · I take absolutely no responsibility for any possible damaged player… Use at your own risk. · These firmwares are only related with a NON_PURE to PURE transition... It keeps your player as an UMS device. · Simply extract the hex file and copy it into your player root. · Formatting and reseting factory defaults is highly recommended before and after this cross-upgrade. · Since region crossing doesn't make any problem, is recommended to choose the original one with you purchased your player... And here are the official untouched firmwares (if a unlikely reflash with it is need after NON_PURE -> PURE crossing)... T10 PURE_FRE_UM_NO [for EU] T10 PURE_ENG_UM_NO [for US] I hope this works and give the final solution for all those T10 PURE users who loaded a hybrid NON_PURE UMS fw in their players... :P Itanium | mtp-ums.net contributor

Hi all,
Itanium, thanks a LOT, you've got a very good idea (I was kinda waiting for it). nrk, do you mean that it worked for your T10 pure ? Back to the pure firmware ? "first it didnt look good" could you give more explanations ?

While I never needed this (my player has been UMS all along), I still want you to know that you're a hero, Itanium, for all that you've done. On behalf of everyone here, cheers.
