Yes you can.
You need H3Mod
Here is the tread where you can get some information.
You can get the firmware here.
If you need more help let me know.

Unhappy

I've downloaded H3Mod latest version and installed .NET v1.1 (link from the H3Mod site). I just tried something simple by loading a 1.62 T10 firmware (jap & chs) and replacing the "Browser Background.gif" with a plain black .gif. When I go to save it gives me some error ... (See below)

In fact.. once loading any of the 1.62 firmwares (chs & kor) I can't save it and this error below pops up.
My pc is running Windows XP SP2 and has the latest Windows Updates.

Yeah, you gotta make ur own one, (that's what I did, dunno if there are icons or backgrounds made already).
I just uploaded a picture from a site which was 128x64 pixels and saved it as Music Background.GIF. And loaded it on the bitmap tab, after that just press "Copy to firmware" on the bitmap tab again, save it and your done.

I am getting the error with 1.62 also
1.60 works fine though
I'll see if I could get this fixed soon

There are no pre-made icons, you have to make your own
Just create a new image with the same dimensions as the one you are replacing

You can use this thread for inspiration

Maybe you guys could start a T10 theme thread!
Who will have the first T10 theme done?!

Hey Rau (or anyone else),

Is there any major differences between 1.60 and 1.62 that would prevent me from using 1.60?

Also I'm not sure as to which firmware I can use..

T10 1.60 0x4102_0x1113_ENG Wed, 11 Jan 2006 10:43:46 GMT
T10 1.60 0x4102_0x1113_N_ENG Wed, 11 Jan 2006 10:43:46 GMT
T10 1.60 0x4102_0x1117_FRE Wed, 11 Jan 2006 10:42:56 GMT
T10 1.60 0x4102_0x1117_P_FRE Wed, 11 Jan 2006 10:42:56 GMT

I have a yellow 1gb T10 bought from Dick Smith in Perth, Australia. When I turn it off it says T10 1GB/AU-HK or something like that. I know for sure it's a UMS one and it came with IRiver Plus 2 software.

unless you DO NOT have the fm tuner, you can use T10 1.60 0x4102_0x1117_P_FRE Wed, 11 Jan 2006 10:42:56 GMT.

I used to have a copy of 1.60 and 1.61 I'll see if I could find it for you.

1.62 works now

Thanks to Rau, who pointed me to a place to download the latest FW,
I could fix H3Mod. It now saves without errors. I only had 1.62 Korean
for testing, but it should be OK for all versions; the problem was there
all the time, it's sheer coincidence that earlier versions worked

Thumbs up

I can confirm v1.62 UMS/kor works with my T10. I just changed Browser Background.gif with a pure black image and flashed mine. Then copied the saved T10.hex to root and disconnected my T10.

Firmware was loaded and worked fine.

Can we get some skins for the T10 happening now?

Woohoooo! You are hereby awarded the title of mistic hero! Somebody had to be brave enough to actually do it first. You deserve a custom made theme. Any designers out there ready to go?
