Firmware version 1.2 KR

Hi all,
The U10 I just bought (in Seoul airport) says its firmware is "1.02 KR". It is a UMS one, delivered with iriver plus 2.
I saw that the last firmware is supposed to be "1.61" for UMS.
When I do a "firmware update" with iriver plus 2 it says "no update available".
Does it mean that 1.61 and 1.2 KR are the same?

Not likely.

This page has the latest firmware available (for your specific unit and region, I would presume this is the right firmware). Do note what it says at the top of that page, though, this is not how you're supposed to upgrade your firmware, and if you do and something goes wrong, it's not my fault nor the fault of the owner of that site. That said, the iriver plus 2 software refuses to run on my PC, and I've been getting all my firmware upgrades for my T20 from that site. The files themselves are on the iriver plus site, so you need not worry that they've been tampered with. If you do decide to go this route, unzip the file once it's done downloading, and extract the .hex file to the root directory of your player. Disconnect your player from your PC and the U10 should do the rest.

Also, if you don't understand what I'm talking about, you're probably better off working out your problem with i+2 than fumbling through the process.

iRiver Plus 2 should automatically update the Firmware for you, IIRC

OK, iRiver Plus 2 was not working to upgrade my U10 (UMS version) to firmware 1.61.
It finally worked perfectly using iriverFirmwareUpdate r

iriver Firmware Updater is for MTP (not UMS) devices O_o

This is what I thought also, but I tried it and it worked perfectly with my UMS device.
