Done everything as described in this thread, still receive "Access Denied" every time I am trying to install T30. I have WinXP with SP2, MediaPlayer 10 (installing 11 made things worse).

Any suggestion, please???

I have wpdmtp file (if setup information with the little notepad+orange gear icon is .inf) and I let it search C:/WINDOWS/inf and nothing.

Any help?

Or send the drivers.

Thanks a million I'm going on vacation and I sorely need this!!!

Hey, maybe this is the place that has the answer as to why I can't install my T30 on either one of my pcs!!! iRiver's site has been worthless to me so far. I've had this thing for 1.5 years and still haven't gotten it to work! Please send me the drivers, too! Thanks!!

since nobody else cares about this T-series problem, and is taking a ridiculous amount of time to get a reply, the problem has to do with INF files in the system 32 folder.

this link should help you:

T30 installed at last

Ok - it took me all afternoon but I got it working like this:

a) install WMP11 (the T30 wouldn't work with WMP10 as the drivers give an error).

b) re-format your player then re-connect and check it appears in Windows Explorer but do not access it .

c) download the latest firmware upgrader from the american iriver site. It will now recognise your player.

d) install the latest MTP firmware (this step may be unecessary for you but it was for me).

e) disconnect/re-connect the player.

f) use the upgrader again to change your player to UMS.

g) use Windows Explorer to drag and drop your files etc.

h) be happy.
