T-10 says it's playforsure certified, but none of the songs I've purchased through MSN Music will play on the T-10. Files transfer and display on the T-10, but won't play. Unprotected files play fine, but when trying to play the protected files the icon changes to play for a split-second and then changes to stop almost instantly.
Was very disappointed after purchasing about 20 songs that I can't even play on my new T-10 |

Don't believe it has anything to do with MSN, because people are having similar problems with other pay services.
Most likely has to do with windows media player or the T-10 needs a firmware update. As for MSN Music, other than the fact that it uses windows media format, I think it's fine. No subscription required, and I only pay for the songs I choose. Personally don't care to pirate music, it's cheap enough to support the artists I like. |

Unless we are talking a conflict of interest (aka incompatibility on firmware, WMP prob or such like), then it's almost certainly a license thing.
Always, when using such services, check the file's license after you download it and play it on WMP for first time (first-time play, ensures the license is sorted). If it's a transfer-rights/burn-rights enabled download (which it would be in the OP's case), ensure it's actual license includes transfer/burn rights - it has been known for purchased tracks to be issued with non-transfer licenses due to server ferkups.. If they prove to be wrongly licensed, reject them and get onto the SP for a refund of cost. I've experienced the alternative scenario - used a subscription service (Pressplay, in the pre-Napster 2 days) that leased audio (like Napster subscription does) for a week where non-transfer/non-burn rights were in the contract for supply - guess who got a postive bonus, as a server ferkup.. gave me burns/transfer rights for week..?? *polishes his claws... the FG luck aint expired just yet*

pac ..
Have you actually got something postive or contributory to add here, or are you only replying to extend your dislike of MSN and Windows Media and WMP to the masses..?? Both your replies came down to the same thing, ferk all and a no-explanation condemantion of MSN...

Thanks FlameGrilled - Good suggestions. Check the Licenses as you suggested and they all state "This file can be synchronized an unlimited number of times".
Still think it'll turn out to to be a software/firmware issue. Playforsure - Yeah Right |
