Upgrading firmware of S10 fails with Plus3---what now?

I'm having trouble getting the Plus3-software to upgrade the firmware of my 1.03AU S10. There's an 1.05 out, and the software correctly tells me so, but when I ok the upgrade, it fails with a 'Could not copy firmware' error. Resetting the player did not help at all. Since iRiver, in their infinite wisdom, have lobotomised their support pages and removed nearly all means of contacting them directly in case Ask Alice fails to come up with the right answer, I'm rather stuck. Can some kind soul lend me a hand and tell me what I need to do?

You can download the firmware from here:
iRiver Firmware Updates

and then upload it to the main folder of S10 player. After you disconnect the device (make sure the battery is charged enough), it will upgrade manualy. And make sure that you don't press some buttons during upgrade.

But that page states that the firmware is 'UMS/kor', which I assume to be Korean only. Much as I respect other people's languages, I really prefer English . Or am I missing something?

Yes, you're. If you scroll the page down, you'll see more versions

Use the "S10 Firmware (UMS/lat)" version.
