SRS's question and sounds configuration?
Hi all I've purchased recently a S10. I've noticed that the SRS effects are not working while the custom equalizator is set wich is a bit strange. I thought that the SRS effects would be awesome but I prefer the sound obtained with the CustomEQ. So what's your better configuration? Mine:
CustomEQ: 3 4 4 5 3 50 200 1k 3k 14k The numbers on the top referrs at the number of black bars at the top on each frequency of the equalizer |

hi, as to me, it's always the best choise to bypass all the eq's, srs and so on. and instead, to have precise headphones, i'm very satisfied with sennheiser in-ear ones - here you get the bass as it is, without cranking it up artificially - and other bands are ok, too - sennheiserly clear! i love music that sounds good itself, not making it sound good.
maybe it's a bit audiophilic point of view, but tastes differ.. [anyway, as far as it's fair to say "audiophilic" since it's all about listening to lossy compressed mp3's!] Last edited by mlekodukye : October 12th, 2007 at 01:40 AM. |

You wouldnt get many wav files on an S10, if you want a player to play lossless you would need to get a considerably bigger player.

Hi again, here's a short example of how sounds the sound configuration in my s10:
http://www.mediafire.com/?9lbhog1dznd Do you think that could sound better? PS: Listen the wav file with some player with no effects or equalizer added to the sound |

2 caramelsoul: yes, but it's still about three times more than standard audio CD which was ruling for many decades. the size is not an excuse for inability to play wav, imho. but we're getting off the topic

Sorry it was not my intention to replicate a post. In this post I just wanted that people share their equalizer settings and in the other I just wanted to know the problem with the srs effects. Thanks for the answers

Yes VipFREAK I think in another post someone mentioned that too. Maybe the volume level follows a logaritmic form. Althought is better than the extemely distorted sound of iPod Shuffle at the highest volume level

Ouch... yeah turned out to be that I needed to update the Firmware.
Yay! ![]() edit: I'd like to change my eq response to... SRS Settings Field Width : 10 Tru Bass : 10 Focus : Medium Freq. Boost : 60Hz It sound better than an custom eq I could make while still having gobs of Bass. lol Last edited by VipFREAK : October 15th, 2007 at 12:44 AM. |

The absolute inefficiency (size wise) of Wav files makes their use on a DAP of only 2gb a dubious proposition anyway. q10 Ogg files sound virtually INDISTINGUISHABLE from WAV files. |
