Post S10 how long is your battery lasting?

The rated battery life for the iRiver S10 is 8 hours (in a perfect Korean lab), but how many hours are you getting out of it in real-world use?

1. How many hours are you getting out of the S10 before having to recharge?
2. Do you use EQ, SRS or any other battery-draining features?
3. How long have you been using the S10?
4. Do you find yourself getting annoyed with having to recharge as often as you do?

1. have it on continiously from 7:30am to 2:30pm (but when i first got it, i did go through almost 8 hrs, now it is 7 hrs) before battery craps out on me but i have my cowon d2 as my back up. have the s10 on during work in a noisy warehouse.

2. no EQ (i guess its normal or flat), brightness level on low, fade in on, any SRS is at 2.

3. been using it since early April. been using it every single work day from M-F at times on #1 cause I was afraid of damaging my d2 so i got something smaller (choice between s10 and ipod shuffle...hated apple so had to go with s10).

4. nope. i did my research before purchasing so i knew beforehand about the battery life. and know from my past experiences not to go with any "official" rated battery life. but i was surprised i came within the rated 8 hrs. i was expecting maybe 6-7 not 7-8. any i'm always near computers/laptops so i can just charge it right away.

other things:
- volume is at 7 using my ultimate ears super.fi pro 5 IEMs
- majority of my music are in mp3 format (160-192) with some wmas (96)
- still using previous FW 1.03AU.

in all, i'm happy with what i got if for. something small, descrete, easy to use, better looking than the shuffle...something for work! too bad its discontinued.

Hey. Just thought I'd replay.

1) I usually get a good 6-7 hors out of it. Pretty good, considering I'm always scrolling through songs.
2) I don't use any of the draining stuff -- only the visualization which is only on for like 10 seconds I think.
3) I've been using my S10 since December 2006.
4) No, I don't mind recharging it, I can usually got anywhere from 1-4 days without recharging, so it's nice!
