Same here

I did the same thing (formatted as a bootable disk with bios update to my laptop) and have the exact same problem. Formatting, resetting, copying firmware doesn't help. I got this error once in the past (File System Damaged) but I was able to navigate to and format from the advanced menu while now there seems to be no menu (?). I would appreciate help too.

Repaired

Hey, I've found a solution. I read this thread (http://www.misticriver.net/archive/i...p/t-14647.html) about a problem with the file system and followed some instructions. You would have to get Active@ KillDisk (probably something else would have worked too) and then format from cmd line ( with "format f: /q /FS:FAT /x). It worked for me.

wow. Drummindan thank so much, got my S10 working.
I had also posted on another thread about my player not booting correctly
I was also contemplating buying another s10 just to fix my old one.

Here's what worked for me.

- downloaded Active KillDisk for Windows (free suite)
- using the software first I tried "wiping" the drive, but that didn't work, then I tried "killing" the drive, which essentially zeros out the content
- then I reformatted (on dos I ran "format h: /q /FS:FAT /x") my h drive

that was it. I hope this helps other people.
-Henry
